CASP stands for Community AIDS Service Penang and we are involved in public education, counseling, training of volunteers, outreach work with marginalised communities, provision of emotional/ psychological support to People Living with HIV/AIDS as well as many other HIV/AIDS related activities.

Targeted toward the northern region populations of Peninsular Malaysia, CASP also organises International AIDS Memorial Day (IAMD) and World AIDS Day (WAD) as an annual major event to make our services known to the public and at the same time, gather more support for the common cause.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear friends and well-wishers,

We take great pleasure in announcing our Silver Jubilee Celebration this year 2014.

CASP had its humble beginning in 1989.  It started off with counseling through phone calls and later evolved into having a full time staff doing outreach services to HIV+ clients and to sex-workers with the help of a few volunteers.

In 2006, we started a ten bedded shelter home at No. 46, Thomas Road, Penang, for the abandoned and homeless HIV/AIDS clients. In 2010, we moved to 2077, Pow Nee Road off Kulim Road, Bukit Mertajam, Penang, a building which has the capacity to accommodate 20 beds.

5 years is a long way. It was not easy getting to where we are today.  We thank all those who trod the path from day one and all our benefactors and sponsors especially the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Welfare, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, Malaysian AIDS Council and Penang State Government.
